HEAR IT – SEE IT – TASTE IT – FEEL IT
(intimate concerts promoting local songwriters, businesses and charities)
We find the music, the venue, and the cause - and then host a show to benefit them all!
Our mission is to find Nashville's own local gems and get the word out about them! We all know that this town is bubbling with talented musicians and numerous writer's nights, but it is also full of independent and locally owned businesses. And did you know that Nashville is also home to almost 30,000 non-profit organizations?
Sometimes the show takes place at a traditional music venue, but it doesn’t have to! You might find us putting on an intimate concert at a HAIR SALON - decorated with the artwork of a LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER - with food catered by a THAI RESTAURANT - benefiting a DOG RESCUE. We bring the local songwriters and the sound-gear to a local business, then create a night to benefit a local charity. Everyone shares in the promotion of the show, and benefits from the exposure - with proceeds going to a great cause! We are all in this together, creating an intimate evening and gathering of amazing music and performances - for the best of reasons.
About THE MUSIC:
What we create is not an open mic, an open stage, or a typical Nashville writer's night. From the careful screening and selection of the songwriters, to the setup of the room to encourage audience participation, the music plays a unique role that goes beyond mere performance. We support our local songwriters by creating a listening room environment where attention is paid to lyrics and song, and talking over the music is not encouraged.
About THE VENUE:
We find great meaning in supporting our locally-owned businesses. Keeping our money within the community goes much further than the feel-good for us- it has a global impact. Nashville has an endless list of restaurants and businesses that are owned and operated by our very own neighbors. Often, these smaller scale operations have a limited marketing budget. Getting the word out about cool new spots, and allowing them to host our events, spreads the word!
About THE CAUSE:
Life is about so much more than commerce. It is about a spirit of service, which in return feeds our souls. With so many meaningful organizations who operate from right here in Nashville, it is easy to find places to channel our energy. Often, organizations "who help" are overlooked by people who might not have 'a lot' to give. When we come together - many people giving 'a little', becomes 'a lot'. That is our goal when working with local businesses who donate 10% or more of the sales of our event evenings. Of course, donations are always welcome!
About GETTING INVOLVED:
For the last 5 months, the ICS had a residency at Mad Donna's in East Nashville. Thank you to all the artists and guests who have supported us. We love you!
